In a recent workshop on casting and the audition process, Lewis Magruder, associate artistic director of the New York-based The Acting Company, explained the importance of utilizing available space to Stephen F. Austin State University theatre majors. Magruder, who is also the founder and producing artistic director for Broad Horizons Theatre Company in New York City, gave a second workshop on producing off-Off Broadway shows. Scott Shattuck, director of the SFA School of Theatre, said Magruder's workshops provided the students with valuable insight into the professional world of theatre.
