Buccaneers John Boyette, Dr. Cheryl Boyette and David Livingston bury pirate loot in preparation for the Pirates of the Pineywoods Party from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 at Stephen F. Austin State University’s Pineywoods Native Plant Center. Young pirates are guaranteed to have swashbuckling adventures as they battle sea creatures, walk the plank, dig for buried treasure and more. Cost is $25 per child and all proceeds benefit educational programs at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center and SFA Mast Arboretum. For reservations or information, call (936) 468-1832.
