NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present Lisa Garner Santa in a guest flute recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, in Cole Concert Hall.
The Texas Tech University associate professor and Ron Petti, SFA director of accompaniment, will perform French flute and piano works by Philippe Gaubert, Gabriel Fauré and Georges Hüe.
Santa, who serves as the principal flutist with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, is an active teacher, recitalist, soloist and chamber musician. Performance highlights include the world premiere of Mike Mower's Concerto for Flute and Wind Ensemble and a Carnegie Hall debut recital featuring Chamber Works for Flute.
Her versatile programming ranges from the Baroque music of Bach to the jazz-inspired writings of Mike Mower.
As an active member of the National Flute Association, Santa has been a featured performer at the Boston, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas and Nashville conventions. She has also delivered presentations and performed at conventions of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Teachers Association, National Association of Wind and Percussion Instructors and the College Music Society.
Santa holds performance degrees from West Texas State University, Florida State University and the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
