Dr. Marlin Young, former provost and vice president for academic affairs at Stephen F. Austin State University, has established a fund to award outstanding faculty members in SFA's Nelson Rusche College of Business. Young endowed the fund with a $20,000 gift to the SFA Foundation. Proceeds will be used to reward faculty members in each of the college's departments who are Teaching Excellence award recipients. The winner of the college's Teaching Excellence award receives an additional monetary award from the college and is eligible for the university-wide Teaching Excellence Award. Young joined the SFA faculty in 1967 as a general business instructor and was eventually promoted to dean of the college. He retired as provost and vice president for academic affairs in August.
