Tyler Junior College today formalized a partnership with Stephen F. Austin State University to standardize curriculum for students pursuing a teaching degree.
The articulation agreement streamlines coursework for students in TJC’s associate of arts in teaching program who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in SFASU’s Department of Elementary Education.
TJC President Dr. Mike Metke and SFASU President Dr. Baker Pattillo signed the agreement in Metke’s office.
Also present were Dr. John Jacobson, dean of the SFASU College of Education, and Dr. Fernando Figueroa, dean of the TJC School of University Studies.
Named 2 + 2 to signify the first two years at TJC and remaining two in SFASU, faculty, administrators and advisors from both schools collaborated to come up with the 120-credit-hour degree plan.
