General Responsibilities - University Property
is to be used only for State/University purposes , and may be taken off-campus only for official business of the University or another State Agency.
may not be loaned, sold, traded, thrown away, cannibalized, or disposed of in any manner without the prior authorization of the Property Manager.
may be loaned to another State Agency or Institution of Higher Education, but only with Property Manager approval, written approval by the President and written acceptance by the head of the borrowing agency.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
President – as the Agency Head, the President is responsible for all University property
Director of Purchasing & Inventory and Property Managers – officially designated “Property Managers” for the University and responsible for centralized, overall management of University property.
Department Head – as the designated “Property Manager” for the department, the Department Head
May not delegate this responsibility
May be held financially responsible for any property listed on his/her department property records
May name up to two (2) Designees
Designee – identified by the Department Head
May receive and submit property communications on Department Head’s behalf
Does not assume property responsibility in lieu of the Department Head
May not sign property documents on behalf of the Department Head
Responsible Party (End User) – employees identified on property records who
Have been entrusted with the care and safekeeping of specific piece of property
May be held financially responsible for any University property assigned to him/her
Will default to Department Head name if no specific assignment is made
