Editor's Notes

The year 2000 has brought some interesting changes in personnel to the College of Liberal Arts as well as the Department of English and Philosophy here at SFASU. Professor Terry Box, department chair, and James Speer, dean of the college, both have relinquished their positions to new administrative faces. Our new dean is Robert Szafran, a professor of sociology originally from the upper Midwest; the new chair in English is Dr. Molly Smith, recently relocated from Aberdeen, Scotland. Welcome to both!
In addition to those in the university administration who've lent their assistance, I'd like to send special thanks Dr. David Jeffrey, our associate V.P. for Graduate Studies and Research. David has offered us financial and moral support at times when we were desperate, and we `d like especially to recognize his aid.

In this Fall 2000 issue (25,2) we include fine prose fiction and criticism as well as poetry. Among the verse included we recommend several works by Walt McDonald, William Aarnes, David Rogner, Ryan G. Van Cleave, R. L. Cook, Mark Marston, and others. Our criticism section contains three fine works on Lawrence, Dostoevsky, and Hurston. Our prose fiction contains a varied offering of the subtle as well as that which is less so. We invite our readers' perusal and feedback.
Our thanks to Wade Carter and others at Steen Library here on the SFA campus who've been responsible for administering our on-line version of the journal. Their tireless efforts have made the transition from print to electronic media as painless as possible for our staff.
Finally, of course, we offer our appreciation to the contributors, subscribers, and readers of RE:AL. Our existence, such as it is, depends entirely upon your support, patience, and participation.
