Member Biographies
Mr. James A. Thompson, Chair
Term expires 2011.
James Thompson of Sugar Land is founder and president of TEAM Associates, Inc., a manufacturer’s representative sales agency servicing industrial and contractors supply distributors in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. He served from 1996 to 2005 on the Sugar Land City Council and is currently serving his first term as mayor of Sugar Land. Thompson also serves on the Sugar Land Advisory Council with the University of Houston System, the Local Development Board for Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Healthcare System and on the U.S. Conference of Mayors committees for Tourism, Arts, Parks, Entertainment and Sports and Energy. He received a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a life member of the Stephen F. Austin Alumni Association.
