Students interested in academic exploration have the opportunity to take regular academic classes on campus without affecting their transcript. Course auditing is offered on a space-available basis and with the permission of the instructor. If a student only is auditing courses, an application to the university is not required.

Grades are denoted as AU and do not appear on your transcript. Audited hours do not count toward attempted, earned or GPA hours.

Note: Course auditing is not available for any off-campus classes or classes offered by the Department of Languages, Cultures and Communication.

Submit your request

Submit a completed Request to Audit Course(s) form (PDF) in person, by fax or email, using the contact information at the bottom of this page. All three signatures on the form are required.

The following documentation is required:

  • If submitting in person, bring a photo ID.
  • If submitting by fax or email, form must be notarized.

Deadline to register for an audit course is 5 p.m. of the official reporting day of the term.

Tuition and fees

When you audit a regular academic course, the tuition and fees are the same as the tuition paid by regularly enrolled students.
