Whether a new incoming first-year, transfer or international student,
you’ll find a place to call home.

Campus living is one of the best ways to get the full “Lumberjack experience,” from forming lifelong friendships to participating in on-campus social activities and learning opportunities. Not only does living on campus immerse you in the full college experience, but research shows that students living on campus achieve higher GPAs and experience better graduation rates.

Residence Life exists as an integral part of the educational experience and academic support services of the university. Join the SFA family and stay in our residence halls along with 5,000 Lumberjacks. We offer traditional, suite and apartment housing.

Make Nothing. Eat Everything.

Dining on-campus isn’t one size fits all. Our meal plans were designed to meet your unique needs. If you are looking to enjoy a meal with friends or just a snack on the go – we’ve got a plan to fit every appetite. Students living in a residence hall* are required to have an on-campus meal plan.

*Note: Students living in Lumberjack Village building 3 are not required to have an on-campus meal plan.

Your Residence Life team

  • Area Coordinators

    Area Coordinators

Area Coordinators are full-time professionals who work and live in each residence hall on campus. They are here to help students with every need from roommate conflicts to emergency situations. 24/7 365 days a year a member of our team is on-call to assist the lumberjacks who call SFA home.

  • Community Assistants

    Community Assistants

They aren’t called "RAs"  because their main job is to build community. Community assistants make a huge impact on campus by helping fellow Lumberjacks and providing leadership in our community.  They are graduate or undergraduate Residence Life paraprofessional staff members with direct and constant contact with residents.

  • Maintenance

    Maintenance & Custodial Team

Our community sets us apart, including our professional maintenance and custodial staff who exclusively maintain our residence halls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • UPD

    University Police Department

Your Residence Life community at SFA include University Police. Each hall has an officer assigned to connect with the community by attending events, staff meetings, community dinners and so much more. 96% of our students stated that they feel welcomed and safe in our Residence Halls, and our UPD office is a tremendous part of our safety.
