Cadet Sterling McKissack - Commander (CO)

Major:  Pre-med

Cadet Sterling McKissack is the fall 2009 company commander. His major is Biology with an emphasis in pre-medicine.  Cadet McKissack was born in Longview, Texas, and moved to Tatum when he was five years old. After high school, he attended Kilgore College where he received an Associate Degree in 2006. Cadet McKissack enlisted in the Texas National Guard. After graduating from the Army's Advanced Individual Training (AIT), he enrolled in classes at SFA in the fall of 2007. He joined SFA's Army ROTC the following semester. He attended Airborne school through ROTC in January of 2008. Cadet McKissack plans to attend medical school after he graduates from SFA and become an Army doctor.

Cadet Caitlin Moore - Executive Officer (XO)

Major: Forestry

Cadet Caitlin Moore graduated from Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas in May of 2006. Cadet Moore is currently serving as the Executive Officer and Supply Officer for the Lumberjack Battalion at SFASU. She is pursuing a Bachelors in Science and Forestry with a Military Science minor and hopes to branch Engineer Corps as an active duty officer.

Cadet CJ White - S-3

Major:  English/History double major

Cadet C.J. White is from The Colony, Texas and graduated from The Colony High School in 2006. He came to SFA as a 4-year ROTC scholarship recipient. Cadet White is an English and History double major with a minor in Military Science. Cadet White wishes to branch into the Military Intelligence field when he graduates and commissions.

Cadet Justin Rapp - 3rd Platoon Leader

Major:  Kinesiology

Cadet Justin Rapp was born in Magnolia, Texas and after high school he attended Tomball College for one semester. Cadet Rapp enrolled in Stephen F. Austin State University in the spring of 2007 and is a Kinesiology major. In the same semester he joined SFA’s Army ROTC. Cadet Rapp was chosen to attend Airborne school through the ROTC program in August of 2008, and was able to attend Air Assault school in August 2009. Cadet Rapp plans to become a pilot and fly CH-47 Chinooks after he graduates and commissions, and hopes to be stationed in Hawaii.

Cadet Ben Cox – 2nd Platoon Leader

Major: Criminal Justice

Cadet Ben Cox graduated from Hohenfels American High School in Germany in 2004. He joined SFASU ROTC in 2005 and joined the Texas Army National Guard in 2006 as a 63B. Cadet Cox is a criminal justice major with a minor in military science. Upon graduation, he hopes to branch into the Engineer Corps on active duty.

Cadet Tyler Gilbert -1st Platoon Leader

Major - Communication Disorders

Cadet Tyler Gilbert is from Sweeny, TX, and has attended SFASU for all four years of his college career where he is obtaining a degree in Communication Disorders and a minor in Military Science. During his 2nd year as a student, he took leave from his studies and enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard. He attend Basic Training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Bliss, TX. Upon graduation he hopes to be an Aviation officer in the Texas National Guard.
