Cadet Ryan Tompkins - Commander (CO)

Cadet Ryan Tompkins, a Nacogdoches, Texas native, joined SFASU ROTC in January 2006. Having served two and a half years as an enlisted member of the U.S. Army at Yongsan Garrison, Seoul, South Korea, C/CPT Tompkins entered ROTC through the Green to Gold program. Cadet Tompkins is a senior biology major and is also a member of the Biology Club. Upon graduation, he hopes to join the Aviation Corps and become an aviation officer.

Cadet Kevin Papke - Executive Officer (XO)

Cadet Kevin Papke graduated from McKinny North High School in McKinny, TX, in 2005. He enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard as an Artillery Forward Observer, the same year. He is an animal science major and plans to attend veterinary school after he retires from the Army. Cadet Papke hopes to branch Aviation and serve on active duty.

Cadet Phillip Hirsch - 1st Platoon Leader

Cadet Phillip Hirsch from Richardson, TX, joined ROTC in January 2006. He joined the Army National Guard and is an SMP Cadet. His Guard Unit, Alpha 1/133 Field Artillery, is in Nacogdoches, TX, where he shadows the commander of the unit. Cadet Hirsch is a senior majoring in Kinesiology with a Military Science minor. Upon graduation, he hopes to branch into the Medical Services or Military Intelligence Corps.

Cadet Karin Pivaral - 2nd Platoon Leader

Cadet Karin Pivaral from Spring, TX, joined ROTC in January 2007. She joined the Army Reserves as an enlisted Soldier at the age of 19 as a 74D (Chemical Corps). Her Army Reserve Unit, 450th Chemical Battalion, is in Houston, TX, where she works in the Intelligence Section. Cadet Pivaral is a senior majoring in History & International Studies with a French minor. Upon graduation, she hopes to branch into the Medical Services or Military Intelligence Corps.
