LTC Todd Reichert - Chair/Professor of Military Science Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Todd Reichert graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Completing his time at Texas A&M as a Distinguished Military Graduate, LTC Reichert was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer, and later transitioned to the Military Intelligence field. LTC Reichert also holds a Masters Degree in Management from Central Michigan University. LTC Reichert has served in numerous Army units including the 3rd Infantry Division (Germany), the 82nd Airborne Division (Fort Bragg, North Carolina) and the 10th Mountain Division (Fort Drum, New York). He also served as an ROTC instructor at Texas A&M. While recently assigned to the 10th Mountain Division, LTC Reichert served two tours in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His decorations include two Bronze Star Medals and two Meritorious Service Medals. He has also earned the Master Parachutist Badge, the Pathfinder Badge, and the Expert Infantryman Badge. |

MSG James Wright - Senior Military Instructor Master Sergeant (MSG) James Wright, a native of Charleston, South Carolina, began his career in the Army in 1983 when he enlisted as a Field Artillery Soldier, and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Throughout his career, MSG Wright has held numerous technical and leadership positions within the Field Artillery branch, including Gunner, Howitzer Section Chief, Drill Sergeant and Battery First Sergeant. MSG Wright has served in a variety of units around the world, including the 4th Infantry Division (Fort Carson, Colorado), the 3rd Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division (both in Germany) and the 25th Infantry Division (Hawaii). He has also served as a unit evaluator at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, and has held numerous positions at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, including service as a Drill Sergeant. He has participated in numerous deployments, including Bosnia and two deployments to Iraq. His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal and four Meritorious Service Medals. He has also earned the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Master Fitness qualification. MSG Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Trinity University. |

CPT Steven Sanchez - Executive (XO) Officer & Enrollment Advisor Captain Steven Sanchez was commissioned into the Regular Army as Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery through the ROTC program at Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas in 2005. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor of Business Administration. His past assignments include: Company Fire Support Officer and Battalion Mortars Platoon Leader for 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment; Paladin Platoon Leader and Battery Fire Direction Officer for 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment all while serving in 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, TX as well as while deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. Upon return to the United States he served as the Brigade Adjutant for 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. He has since served as a Battalion Training Advisor, Training Company Commander, and Branch Operations Officer all while assigned to the Combat Skills Training & Evaluation Branch of the Texas Army National Guard. Continuing his service in the Texas Army National Guard he assumed commanded Alpha Battery 4th Battalion, 133rd Field Artillery Regiment, while assigned to the 36th Infantry Division. He is a graduate of the Captains’ Career Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He is currently serving as the Executive Officer for the Department of Military Science at Stephen F. Austin State University. CPT Sanchez’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (2nd Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge. |

MSG Jon Foster - Instructor Master Sergeant (MSG) Jon Foster, a native of Seattle, WA began his career in the Army in 1992 when he enlisted as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist better known as a Cavalry Scout. He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Throughout his career, SFC Foster has held numerous technical and leadership positions within the Armor branch, including Scout, HMMWV/ Bradley Gunner, Squad/Section Leader, NCOES Instructor and Scout Platoon Sergeant. SFC Foster has served in a variety of units around the world, including the 4th Infantry Division (Fort Carson, Colorado and Fort Hood, Texas), the 1st Infantry Division (Fort Riley, Kansas), the 2nd Infantry Division (Korea), the 1st Armored Division (Germany) and the 25th Infantry Division (Hawaii). He has also served as an Advanced Leaders Course Instructor at Non Commissioned Officers Academy at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He has participated in two deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He has also earned the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Action Badge. |

Ms. Megan Hartley, Contractor – Instructor Ms. Megan Hartley graduated and commissioned from Stephen F. Austin State University in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Aircraft Technology and was Branched Active Duty Aviation. After Commissioning, she was stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama where she was trained and qualified to fly the UH-60 Blackhawk. Ms. Hartley has served in a variety of leadership positions to include: Executive Officer for an Air Traffic Control Company, Assistant Operations Officer for the only Assault Helicopter Battalion in the 1st Cavalry Division, and Platoon Leader assigned to A Company, 3-227 Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. Ms. Hartley is now a Military Science Instructor at Stephen F. Austin State University as the primary instructor for the freshman class. She is also a Captain in the Texas Army National Guard and is the Senior Instructor at the Officer Candidate School. |

Mr. Kyle Locke, Contractor – Enrollment Advisor/Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) Mr. Kyle Locke began his Army Career as an enlisted soldier with the Texas Army National Guard in 2002. He attended Basic Training at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and completed AIT at the US Army Signal School at Ft. Gordon, GA in 2003 as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. In 2004, SPC Locke deployed to Iraq as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom III with C Battery 1/133rd Field Artillery in Lufkin, TX. After the 18 month deployment was over, SPC Locke returned to Nacogdoches where he enrolled in Stephen F. Austin State University where he joined the ROTC program and earned his degree in Communications and his commission as a Military Police Officer in 2007. Locke attended and graduated from the Military Police Officer Basic Course in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO in January of 2010. Locke has served in a variety of Leadership positions to include: Platoon Leader for the 702nd Military Police Company, Rear Detachment Company Commander for HHC 136th Military Police Battalion, and then Executive Officer for the 702nd MP Co. His decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Service Ribbon w/ M Device, and the Adjutant General’s Individual Award for service during Hurricanes Gustov and Ike. |

Mr. Samuel Gardner - Supply Technician Mr. Samuel Gardner served over 20 years in the US Army and retired as a Sergeant First Class. His military career began in October 1976, when he enlisted in the Regular Army as a Quartermaster Supply Specialist. He attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Lee, Virginia. Mr. Gardner has served in numerous army units including the 1st and 15th Infantry, Third Infantry Division (Kitzingen and Schweinfurt, Germany), First and Eighty-Seventh Infantry (Baumholder, Germany), First Cavalry Division (Fort Hood, Texas) and the Ninth Area Finance Group, Ninth Infantry Division (Fort Lewis, Washington). He also served as the Supply Sergeant with the 4th ROTC Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington assigned to Washington State University. Mr. Gardner has made several deployments including Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Provide Democracy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Mr. Gardner retired at the Presidio of San Francisco, California. Immediately upon retirement, Mr. Gardner began work with the Workforce Solutions of East Texas and Veterans Commission as the Veteran Employment Representative serving numerous East Texas counties for 9 years. Prior to coming to Stephen F. Austin State University, he was a federal employee at Alcorn State University, Mississippi. Mr. Gardner now serves as the Supply Technician for SFA's Military Science Department. Mr. Gardner's decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with five Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with six Oak Leaf Clusters), the Good Conduct Medal (5th award), the National Defense Service Medal (with Bronze Star), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal , the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Service Medal (with Bronze Star). He is an active member of the American Legion, and Veteran of Foreign Wars. |
Mrs. Peggy Beres - Human Resources Tech Ms Margaret (Peggy) Beres was born in Syracuse, NY. Her military career began in November 1977 when she enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program as a basic 0100 Administration clerk. Ms Beres reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina for Boot Camp February 1978. Upon completion of Boot Camp she reported to Basic Administration School, also at Parris Island, where she completed Basic Administration School and Personnel Clerks Course. Other military schools completed included Non-Commissioned Officers course, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii and Drug and Alcohol Counselors course, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Duty stations included: Woman Recruit Training Command, Parris Island, South Carolina, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Ms Beres attained the rank of Sergeant while in the Marine Corps. Immediately upon release from Active Duty in 1985, Ms Beres went to work for Federal Civil Service. She has worked as a Unit Secretary with the Drug and Alcohol Unit, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA, the long term locked Psychiatric Unit, VA Medical Center, North Chicago, IL and the Medical Surgical Unit at Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, IL. In between she has worked with Medical Billing for the Non Naval Medical Command, Great Lakes, IL, Main Operating Room, Naval Hospital, Great Lakes, IL, and as Human Resources Assistant for Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps, Chicago Consortium, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL. Her current position is with the Lumberjack Battalion at Stephen F. Austin State University as the Human Resources Technician. |

Mrs. Sonnie Mosier - Administrative Assistant Mrs. Mosier has served as Administrative Assistant to the Chair of Military Science since February 1997, and is responsible for supporting the program's students and being a university liaison for the staff. Additionally, she assists new non-SFA faculty and staff with SFA's policies and procedures during in-processing. Mrs. Mosier also directs the flow of student work in the office, delegating duties as necessary. Prior to coming to Military Science, Mrs. Mosier served as a Data Input Specialist in the Data Center for the Admission's Office and also as a receptionist for the Office of the President. Mrs. Mosier has been with the university since August 1994 and has maintained positions that have always included helping people as she worked in the field of Higher Education. Mrs. Mosier is also a fellow Lumberjack with a Bachelor of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University. |
