Stephen F. Austin State University Press, housed in the College of Liberal and Applied Arts, seeks to maintain high standards in the traditional areas of literary publishing while also exploring the history and culture of East Texas and the surrounding region. The Press seeks to meet the needs of international as well as regional and local audiences.
Stephen F. Austin State University Press serves the University community directly by handing the publication of departmental journals in addition to publishing the peer-reviewed work of SFA authors. By insisting in a thorough peer-review process for faculty as wells as outside authors, Stephen F. Austin State University Press will publish scholarship and literature of the highest quality.
The press's interests include works on the history and culture of East Texas as well as the surrounding region, forestry, archeology, folklore, fiction, poetry, biography, creative non-fiction, general interest nonfiction, and literary criticism. In addition, Stephen F. Austin State University Press publishes children's and young-adult literature.
