The School of Social Work's International Initiative is actively involved in enhancing global connections among faculty and students. The School is a member of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW). In 2009, the School developed an International Certificate in Community Development in collaboration with a university in Germany. International faculty from a variety of countries visit the School on a regular basis. These countries include Russia, New Zealand and South-Africa. Faculty participate in research and outreach in collaboration with colleagues from countries such as Romania, Swaziland and the United Arab Emirates.
