Strategic Planning Information
Where We've Been... Where We are Going
The Past
The first Strategic Plan for Stephen F. Austin State University, SFA 98, was written by Dr. Dan Angel, the President of SFASU during the 1990's. The second plan, SFA 03 A Rededication to Student Success, was written by Dr. Janelle Ashley and a committee named the Commission on the Future. The third 5-year plan, SFA 08 Placing Student Achievement First, was written by a Strategic Planning Committee formed by Dr. Tito Guerrero, former President of SFASU.
The Present
The development of a new Strategic Plan began in December 2006 when the Strategic Planning Committee was named. The committee consists of a broad representation from the campus community, with ample representation from Academic Affairs and representation from the Board of Regents. The first committee meeting was held on February 2, 2007. This ongoing process will be an open, inclusive, and comprehensive one, resulting in a strategic plan made up of a limited, achievable set of objectives.
