Strategic Planning Tentative Timeline

Spring 2007 will be fact-finding, an “education process” for committee members, with workshops on state finance, legislative issues, faculty and student demographics, Texas higher education issues, accreditation issues, closing the gaps, enrollment trends and projections, etc.

Fall 2007 will be data gathering on-campus, with an invitation to the campus community to suggest up to five initiatives that will best move the institution forward. Responses will be compiled and sorted and then vetted through several open forums with various campus constituencies – faculty, staff, students, regents, administration.

Spring and Summer 2008 will see the process of distilling input into three to five best initiatives for institutional progress. Plan will be written and will include implementation elements, assessment elements, and budgetary elements, as well.

Fall 2008 will be announcement / release of plan and beginning of implementation.
