Schedule of Events

Wednesday, September 16th, Convocation
You will get your first glimpse of sorority life at SFA, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Center Twilight Ballroom on the second floor. Our Rho Beta Sigma’s explain to you what it is to be Greek at SFA as well as what to expect as you progress through the Recruitment process. At this event you will also have the opportunity to meet your Rho Beta Sigma as well as other women going through formal recruitment.

Friday, September 18th, Open House/Philanthropy
This is your first glimpse of all five sororities. You will visit each chapter house for a simple “meet and greet” and house tour. You will then work side by side with sorority members on creative philanthropy projects that pertain to that sorority’s national philanthropy. These events are fast paced and full of energy, so be ready to have fun! Expect a lot of singing, clapping, and smiling faces. Everyone inside the houses is really excited to meet you for the first time!

Saturday, September 19th, Skit/Slide Show
Sisterhood theme events are the order of the day. Each sorority you visit will present a skit or slide show to displays their chapter personality. Today really shines a light to how the sorority has impacted them and how it can impact you!

Sunday Morning, September 20th, Preference Day
Today’s events are the most meaningful day of Recruitment. They are a solemn and more serious occasion where you will determine which sorority you would like to call your own. Listen carefully to the songs and words you hear. The sisters express to you what it is like to be a part of their sorority. This round tends to be the most emotional step of the Recruitment process.

Sunday Evening, September 20th, Bid Day
The final event is the one you have been waiting for - meeting your new sisters. This marks the end of Recruitment week. This is the day invitations to join a Panhellenic Sorority are distributed. Sorority Recruitment is a mutual selection process with your preference card being matched with sorority preferences. Once bids are received, you will join your new sisters, and each sorority will have a sisterhood party to welcome their new members. This event will be held in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Grand Ballroom. This officially marks the end of the recruitment week.
