The BIG Event is planned and executed by a student committee. Committee members play an integral role in the success of this event, helping the Student Directors with the behind-the-scenes tasks of preparing for the BIG day! Committee members can assist in a variety of ways - operations, job site visits, public relations, registering participants, community outreach, and much more! It's a great way to gain leadership skills and serve your community in a new way.
Committee members are expected to:
- attend the fall and spring retreats, as well as all mandatory work days attend the weekly The BIG Event committee meetings (Tuesday evenings in both fall and spring semesters)
- fulfill at least one office hour per week
- represent The BIG Event in a positive manner on campus
Serving on The BIG Event committee is a volunteer position, but through participation in committee events, members can earn points toward The BIG Event swag and other incentives.
Each fall, The BIG Event accepts applications for committee membership. That process is now closed for the 2013-2014 year. Check back on this site in Fall 2014 to join the committee next year!
