Chili Cook-Off

Student Foundation Chili Cookoff

The Chili Cook-off was established in the fall of 2000. This event takes place at the last home football game of each season. Chili cookers from all over the southern region drive to Nacogdoches, Texas to take part in this fun and exciting competition. SFA students and faculty gather anxiously at Lumberjack Alley to taste all the different types of chili offered. Local TV stations and newspapers also participate in the festivities and help monitor the judging. Among the judges are students, faculty, administration, community members and alumni.

The 2009 Chili Cook-Off will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 before the SFA vs. Nicholls State football game at Lumberjack Alley. Look for the 2009 winners to be announced soon.
