Our paper is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) quality. This is an international organization that reflects the wood fiber industries economic, social and environmental concerns. FSC was created to foster dialogue about sustainable forestry practices, i.e. for every tree cut down at least two are planted to replace it. The majority of our paper also is made up of over 30% recycled material. We utilize soy-based and vegetable- based inks for our presses. The soy-ink has low levels of VOC's (volatile organic compounds) which helps reduce air pollution from toxic emissions. We are partnered with Xerox in their nationwide recycling program. We daily recycle paper and cardboard boxes-- several hundreds of pounds a month. We reuse cardboard boxes to package finished printing projects. In addition, we turn discontinued/odd-shaped paper into scratchpads.
