Ms. Blackwell is responsiblle for the construction and alteration of all the costumes needed for SFA Theatre Mainstage productions. She is also the supervisor for the costume laboratory students and oversees all costume rentals. She first began working at the SFA School of Theatre costume shop while finishing a B.A. in Art in 1998. In the year 2000, she became the Costume Shop Supervisor. Prior to her work for SFA, she worked for twelve years in her family's business as a floral designer, earning the Texas Master Florist certification in 1990. She has also enjoyed working and teaching at a retail quilt shop in Shreveport. She continues to pursue her lifetime love of sewing and various needle arts. Through the SFA Costume Society she hopes to share her passion with students.
