Our Mission

University: Stephen F. Austin State University is a comprehensive institution dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, creative work, and service. Through the personal attention of our faculty and staff, we engage our students in a learner-centered environment and offer opportunities to prepare for the challenges of living in the global community.

Division: We provide transformative experiences for our students with co-curricular PROGRAMS that create opportunities for students to engage in active and high-impact learning; with ACTIVITIES that strengthen students' connections to the university and to each other; with targeted SERVICES that support our students' pursuit of their personal and academic goals, and we develop and maintain the FACILITIES necessary to fulfill this mission.

Chief Information Officer (CIO) Finalists Announced

This executive position is responsible for overseeing information resources for the university to ensure that information resources are being used effectively to further the university's mission and strategic goals. They are responsible for directing Information Technology Services including the project management office, enterprise resource planning system, telecommunications, networking, and technical support services. Another key responsibility of the CIO is to establish cyber security procedures and practices that help ensure that information assets are protected against unauthorized or accidental modification, destruction, or disclosure. In addition, they are responsible for using university goals and objectives to determine information system objectives and plans for these objectives with long-range results; facilitating campus-wide collaboration of IT-related projects.
