Student Conduct Committee

Function

The Student Conduct Committee is the body authorized to conduct formal hearings and impose sanctions for alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. The committee also serves as an appellate authority for informal hearings for alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct.

Membership

For any hearing, the Chair selects the faculty/staff member and the student member from their respective pools. A charged student is notified of the members of the hearing board in the official notification of hearing and has one business day to challenge a board member's participation based on known facts that would impact impartiality or conflict of interest.

The chair is appointed by the Vice President for University Affairs (VPUA) and serves on a permanent basis. The pool of committee members shall consist of five (5) faculty/staff members appointed by the VPUA and five (5) students appointed by the president of the Student Government Association.
