AOD Biennial Review Committee
The 1989 amendments to the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, as articulated in the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) Part 86, require that each institution of higher education receiving federal financial aid conduct a biennial review of its alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs and policies to determine program effectiveness and consistency of policy enforcement and to identify and implement any changes needed to either. The SFA AOD Biennial Review Committee is tasked with conducting this review and issuing a biennial report for the university.
Members of the committee are appointed based upon the position they hold at the university. By virtue of their day-to-day responsibilities each member will be able to offer insight into the practical application and effectiveness of the programs and policies being reviewed. The committee may seek input from other individuals as resource members as needed based on expertise.
