On 4-23-2024, UPD officers responded to Wisely Hall in reference to a drug complaint. Officers contacted four subjects in a residence. Officers located marihuana, drug paraphernalia, and alcohol inside the residence. Officers issued four Class-B Summons for possession of marihuana, two citations for possession of drug paraphernalia, and one citation for minor in possession of alcohol. There are four suspects.

On 4-18-2024, a UPD officer responded to the STEM building in reference to a criminal mischief. The complainant advised on 4-17-2024 an unknown male intentionally damaged the Sun Dial that is located on Clark Blvd. There is one suspect.

On 4-13-2024, UPD officers stopped a vehicle in Lot 61 for a traffic violation. As officers contacted the driver they could see drug paraphernalia in plain sight inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a probable cause search and located marihuana inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested for possession of marihuana and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.
On 4-14-2024, UPD officers were called to assist Nacogdoches Police Department with a large disturbance in the 1500 block of North Street. While officers were on scene a UPD officer observed one subject who appeared agitated. The officer then saw the grip of a firearm hanging out from the subject’s pants. The subject was confronted by officers and taken into custody. A search of the subject’s person revealed the subject to be in possession of a handgun and marihuana. The subject was arrested for unlawful carrying of a weapon and possession of marihuana. He was then transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.
Wednesday April 10, 2024 – Thursday April 11, 2024
On 4-10-2024, a UPD officer stopped a vehicle in Lot 42 for a traffic violation. The officer contacted the driver and noticed several alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle. The driver, who was under the age of twenty-one, was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol.
Tuesday April 9, 2024 – Wednesday April 10, 2024
On 4-9-2024, a UPD officer responded to UPD to meet with a complainant in reference to the theft of a bicycle. The complainant advised that between 4-4-2024 and 4-7-2024 their unsecure bicycle was removed from the bicycle rack in front of Steen Hall. On 4-7-2024, a juvenile suspect was later arrested and the bicycle was returned to the owner. The suspect was placed in juvenile detention.
On 4-9-2024, a UPD officer responded to the Steen Library in reference to a theft. The complainant advised they had left some personal property unattended in the library and later returned to find their property was missing. There is one suspect.

On 4-4-2024, a UPD officer was dispatched to the ag pond to meet with a complainant in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that on 4-2-2024 someone removed property from the ag pond area that belonged to them without their consent. There are two possible suspects.

On 3-30-2024, A UPD officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 500 block of North Street. The officer contacted the driver and checked the status of their drivers license through dispatch. The license check showed that the driver had two active arrest warrants through Nacogdoches County Sheriffs Officer for Failure to Appear – Class B misdemeanor and Bail Jumping – Class A misdemeanor. The driver was arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.
Wednesday March 27, 2024 – Thursday March 28, 2024
On 3-27-2024, UPD officers responded to the ECRC to allow a contract worker onto the premises. A routine check of the workers identification showed them to have an active Capias Grand Jury Indictment for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The worker was placed under arrest and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident.

On 3-22-2024, UPD officers responded to Lumberjack Village in reference to the smell of marihuana coming from a residence. Officers contacted a subject inside the residence and were voluntarily let inside. Officers located marihuana inside the residence that belonged to the subject. That subject was issued a class-b summons for possession of marihuana. There is one suspect.

On 3-20-2024, UPD officers responded to Griffith Hall in reference to a disturbance. The complainant advised a suspect entered into a residence without consent and assaulted them. The suspect was arrested for burglary of a habitation and assault. The suspect was then transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident. There is one suspect.

On 3-19-2024, UPD responded to the Recreation Center in reference to a theft. The complainant advised on 3-19-2024, they placed their personal property in an unsecured locker located in the Recreation Center. The complainant advised when they returned an hour later someone had removed the items without the consent of the owner. There are no suspects.

The officer performed a probable cause search of the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. There is one suspect.
