Using RedDot on a Mac

Browser Compatibility

RedDot works best with Internet Explorer (which is only available on Windows) but if you can install an older version of Firefox on your Mac, you'll be able to do 95% of what's needed to do to keep your website maintained.

Below are the steps you need to follow to get a RedDot-friendly version of Firefox installed and configured:

  1. Download Firefox 3.6.28
  2. If you already have a version of Firefox installed on your computer and want to be able to continue using it, follow the instructions for running multiple versions of Firefox simultaneously. The instructions mention Firefox 4 but you can substitute any version of Firefox and the steps are the same.
  3. Disable automatic updating in Firefox 3.6.28 by going to Preferences -> Advanced -> Update
