Get ready for the future
SFA's Bachelor of Arts in International and Intercultural Communication is a degree for success in today’s business world. With a focus on recognizing cultural differences and interacting with diverse populations, this degree prepares students to join a local, national or international workforce by teaching important work skills.
This is SFA’s first bilingual degree to be taught half in English and half in a foreign language. The curriculum allows both students who are already fluent in a second language and students who have never studied a foreign language to graduate with professional bilingual skills. While most students choose Spanish due to the number of Spanish speakers in our area, you also can choose French, German or Portuguese.
A versatile degree with résumé-building courses
The international and intercultural communication curriculum requires students to complete internships that can be local, national, international or virtual. These experiences result in real-work experience and often can directly lead to employment. The bilingual skillset is by far one of the most valuable assets for the workplace.
With increasing emphasis on diversity and inclusion, this degree prepares students to present themselves as top job candidates, and gives them the tools to succeed in many fields, including:
- Human resources
- Business management
- Nonprofit administration
- Education
- Diplomacy
- Hospitality
- Information technology
- International business
- International law
- Interpretation and translation services
- Music and the arts
