Eyes to the future
Technology has changed the way humans live, and as electricity becomes a basic essential for so many things, the demand for engineers to design, develop and supervise the manufacturing of electrical equipment significantly multiplies.
We recognize this need and have dedicated a program to preparing trailblazing electrical engineers of tomorrow. At SFA, you will get the attention you want and deserve with classes typically capped at 20 students and taught by devoted faculty members who have built strong relationships in the engineering industry. You’ll also have the opportunity to take classes in SFA’s state-of-the-art Cole STEM Building and access to all the technology it provides.
Be a part of shaping tomorrow’s tech future, and let SFA help get you there.
An electrifying program
SFA’s electrical engineering program is designed to prepare students for careers as practicing engineers in areas such as digital systems, embedded processor applications, digital communications, control systems, sensor networks, microelectronics and power systems. These careers are in applications, research, development, and design of electric and electronic systems and devices.
Electrical engineers are involved in the design and development of telecommunications networks, cellular telephones, computer and other microprocessor-based devices, consumer electronics, control systems for space vehicles and robots, and in many aspects of the power and automotive industries.
Careers of tomorrow
Students who study electrical engineering at SFA open themselves up to an endless catalogue of possibilities. Just to name a few, our students can pursue the following careers:
Telecommunications Engineer: Apply knowledge in circuits, signals and systems, and communications to design, deploy and maintain wireless and wired communication networks.
Controls Engineer: Apply knowledge in circuit analysis and controls to design and develop systems for manufacturing operations.
Power System Engineer: Apply knowledge in circuit analysis, power systems and control to design and maintain power networks.
Mechatronics Engineer: Design the next generation of automated systems using circuit analysis, communications and control systems.
