All events listed are free and available to all students, faculty and staff unless otherwise indicated. Sign up may be required for preparation purposes. Check the details of the event for more information.

April 2022

April 6: SFA Pool Party

3 to 5 p.m.
Student Recreation Center, Outdoor Pool

Ice, ice baby - it's getting hot outside!

Stop by the official SFA pool party for water games, icy cold treats and big prizes. If rescheduled due to weather, alternative dates are April 7 and 12.

April 12: Teaching Kitchen Visit

6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Eatery on East

This presentation is the last of three in the "Why, What and How" nutrition series.

Put it all together alongside Marie Jessup, Lumberjack Eats registered dietitian, and Jason Crysup, executive chef, in this hands-on teaching kitchen. Space is limited, register online. Once registered, you'll receive an email with details to pay the $10 registration fee.

This event is a partnership between Campus Recreation and Lumberjack Eats.

April 19: Decompress and Manage Your Stress

5 to 6:30 p.m.
Student Recreation Center, Meeting Room

Join us for snacks and giveaways while learning how to manage your stress and increase your overall wellbeing. Register online to secure your spot.

This event is a partnership between Campus Recreation and Counseling Services.

April 22: "Clean the Trails" Volunteer Day

Join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Pursuits in cleaning the SFA Recreational Trails.

Activities will include trail maintenance and element building. Bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you can wear to work outside.

Time: 9 a.m. to Noon

April 27: Destress Fest

3 to 5 p.m.
Student Recreation Center, Loading Dock

Destress during dead week at this carnival-style event. Visit the petting zoo, take a turn at the dunking booth to dunk popular SFA leaders, bid on live paintings, check out the sensory station, make your own lemonade, enjoy treats like cotton candy and snow cones, and pick up your own finals survival goodie bag.

May 2022

May 12: Family Fun Night and Summer Music Series with Tyler Dhone

5 to 7 p.m.
Student Recreation Center, Outdoor Pool and Courtyard

At this free event, the Campus Recreation team will provide information about swim lessons, youth summer camp, summer pool memberships and more. Featuring the first of three poolside concerts during the Summer Music Series, our May Family Fun Night includes live music by Tyler Dhone, food and swimming.

May 31: Little Jack Rec Camp Kickoff Day

8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Student Recreation Center

Available to children ages 5 to 12 years, LJRC Kickoff Day is a one-day preview of the average day during an LJRC session. It is perfect for families who would like to experience the camp before signing up for weekly sessions. For more information, visit the LJRC web page.

June 2022

June 17: Summer Music Series with Bryan Harkness

5 to 7 p.m.
Student Recreation Center, Outdoor Pool and Courtyard

Join Campus Rec at the second of three poolside concerts this summer. This event will feature live music by Bryan Harkness, food and swimming. Entry is free for members and children ages 4 and under. Nonmembers will be charged a $5 entry fee, which includes food.

July 2022

Aug. 16: Lumberjack Fitness Academy Registration

Registration opens for the Lumberjack Fitness Academy and will remain open through Sept. 1.

October 2021

Oct. 21: Flu Shot Clinic

Appointments are not required. Faculty, staff and students are eligible to receive flu shots during this on-campus clinic. Bring your prepared screening and consent form and prescription card.  Make the onsite registration process faster by emailing the prepared registration form to waguespaja@sfasu.edu.

This presentation is the first of three in the "Why, What and How" nutrition series.

Unsure of how to navigate through the idea of eating well? Marie Jessup, Lumberjack Eats registered dietitian, will teach you about macro and micronutrients, nutrition timing, eating mindfully, and creating attainable and sustainable goals, all while using the resources that you have on campus.

Celebrate Heart Health Month with this high energy Zumba workout! Stick around after class to build your own healthy taco bowl with the registered dietitian.
