Retesting Policy
CLEP exams may not be retaken within a three-month period. This waiting period provides the student an opportunity to spend additional time preparing for the exam or the option of taking a classroom course. To verify the current length of the waiting period, candidates may contact CLEP Services at (800) 257-9558, (212) 237-1331, or

The CLEP program will not release scores for an examination of the same title taken within the three-month period after the initial administration under any circumstance. This is an effort to serve both candidates and institutions by ensuring that examination scores for these “retests” are valid. If a candidate retakes the examination within the three-month period, the administration will be considered invalid, the score will be canceled, and fees will be forfeited.
