Steen Library will remain open to students, staff and faculty, who will need to swipe a valid ID to access the library. The building is closed to the general public. Library hours are shortened and are on the library hours web page.

March 16, 2020 - East Texas Research Center

The East Texas Research Center is closed to students, staff, faculty, and the community. ETRC staff are available to answer questions virtually through the ASK US service on the ETRC website. Our normal charge for researchers and community users concerning photocopying and scanning is waived during this time.

March 12, 2020 - General information

Events requiring gatherings of people on campus will be canceled now through Sunday, April 5, at a minimum.  If you have a room reservation in the Baker Pattillo Student Center for an event during this time, please contact Carol Woodson or Nick Stallworth at 936.468.3400.

Regarding athletic sporting events scheduled during this time, please check for updates at and for fine arts performance events.

Offices will remain open during this time of social distancing with limited staff.

Steen Library is scheduled to be open and maintain normal operating hours.

Student Employees employed by local businesses may need special accommodations during this time.  We appreciate your consideration and flexibility with our students.

Facilities will be maintained using aggressive sanitization and hygiene protocols as recommended by authorities.  At this time, there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at the Stephen F. Austin State University. We urge you to please follow personal hygiene precautions and exercise social distancing measures as recommended by CDC and local health authorities.
