Master of Education in Teaching and Learning

*New Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Teaching and Learning

Students in this new 36-hour program take an 18-hour core, which provides them with the knowledge and skills to better serve the needs of the diverse EC-12 student population in Texas. All courses for this degree are offered online, with regular virtual class meetings.

The 18-hour core includes the following courses:

Beyond the 18-hour core, students choose from three tracks (i.e., ESL/Bilingual, Online Teaching and Gifted/Talented) in which to specialize and can choose six hours of electives from inside or outside the Perkins College of Education to further expand their knowledge.

Interested applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be accepted into this M.Ed. program:

If you are interested in applying to this program, apply to the Graduate School here. You will be charged a $50.00 application fee.

The Graduate School will calculate your GPA to determine eligibility. Choose Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Secondary Education. Do not choose Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT).

*Submit all materials by August 20 for full acceptance for the fall semester; submit all materials by November 30 for full acceptance for the spring semester, and submit all materials by April 30 for full acceptance for the summer semester.
