Food and Nutrition

The Food and Nutrition degree plan is for those students who have a passion for nutrition but are interested in pursuing a less clinical route. This major allows students to minor in areas such as child and family development, communications, hospitality administration, health science and many more. This track does not allow a student to pursue further education as a registered dietitian; however, many students can return to take the required courses to become verified through the DPD program. See how to become a registered dietitian (DPD program).

Our degree plans and degree maps indicate which courses are required and course sequencing recommendations. Visit the Perkins College of Education website and scroll down to find the Food and Nutrition information.

For more information about employment opportunities and a guide to successful completion of the program, view our food and nutrition experiential major matrix brochure.
