Register to Vote

The deadline to register to vote in Texas is fast approaching, next Monday, October 5!

If you are not yet registered to vote, you can do so each day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On Campus:

Look for our "Lumberjacks Vote" logo on offices around campus. Anywhere you see this logo you can register to vote.

Off Campus:

For online and distance learning students, or any students who wish, check out the website: This website is recommended by the Texas Secretary of State, and provides a place where you can simply fill in you information and a completed application will be mailed to you for your signature. After signing, you can complete the registration process by mailing it back. The postmark deadline for registration applications in Texas is Monday, October 5.

You must vote in the county in which you are registered. Some may wish to register using their permanent address - but be advised, this may require you to vote at that location. Students residing in residence halls or in nearby apartments are eligible to register in Nacogdoches County. Our effort is non-partisan and open to anyone (student, faculty, staff or even Nacogdoches community members).

Vote on Campus

We are pleased to announce that SFA has been approved for early voting location on campus!

Campus Voting Location:

Baker Pattillo Student Center, Rm. 3.201

(3rd floor of the Baker Pattillo Student Center in the "Commons Room")

October 13th, 2020 through October 30th, 2020 (Weekdays Only) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What if I am not registered in Nacogdoches County?

You can get registered in Nacogdoches County to be able to vote at the Early Voting location on campus by visiting any offices on the third floor of the University Center with the Jacks Vote logo. You must be registered to vote in Nacogdoches County with a Nacogdoches County residential address in order to vote at the SFA location.

Where am I allowed to vote:

Early Voting - Any voter registered in Nacogdoches County may vote at any of our 7 Early Voting locations, include the SFA campus location.

Election Day - On Election Day, you must be registered to vote in Nacogdoches County in order to vote, and you must go to the Voting Precinct assigned to you.

Is there anything against wearing my candidate paraphernalia to vote?

Campaign attire (hats/shirts/buttons/masks/stickers/signs/etc.) for anyone or anything on the ballot is not permitted in the polling place or within 100 ft of the polling place. Voters may bring in literature to look at while voting, but they are not allowed to wear anything that advertises a candidate or ballot measure.
