Stephen F. Austin State University

Division of Student Affairs

Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Brandon Frye

Greetings, Lumberjacks!

On behalf of the Division of Student Affairs at Stephen F. Austin State University, I would like to welcome you to our homepage. From here, you can easily connect to our broad array of programs, engagement opportunities, facilities, support services and student life experiences - all designed to help you get the most out of your time at SFA.

Student access and success are the focal points of our work within the Division of Student Affairs. The programs, services, resources, and learning and engagement opportunities we provide were created specifically with you, our students, in mind. Please know that supporting your academic, career and personal-wellness goals are what we enjoy most.

I encourage you to get involved in some of the numerous on-campus events and organizations we offer to help you build new relationships, expand your knowledge and skills or learn new ones - maybe even pursue a new hobby or interest outside your comfort zone. SFA's more than 200 clubs and organizations include numerous fraternities and sororities, a coffee club, a sustainability club and a geography club, just to name a few. Many of the networking, service, educational and leadership opportunities these activities offer not only foster your academic success but also help you land a job after graduation.

Student Affairs also provides essential resources to help with a wide range of challenges impacting today's college students. For example, we offer confidential counseling services for students struggling with anxiety, depression or other mental health issues. At some point in your college career, you may also need to access our health clinic, food pantry, student emergency aid fund, career center, student recreation center, registered dietician or all of the above. If you are not sure what help is available or where to find the assistance you need, ask a faculty or staff member for guidance or review a complete listing of our "Lumberjack Essentials" online.

Recently, our staff developed a list of the 10 key values that will guide the Division of Student Affairs as we continue working to improve student access and success:

We remain steadfastly committed to these ideals and look forward to helping you grow and succeed at SFA.

Axe 'em, Jacks!

Student Emergency Aid Fund (See our students explain why this matters...)

College is a challenge, but for many Stephen F. Austin State University students, these challenges can include more than just research papers and exams. More than 72% of SFA students are considered at risk of not completing their degrees.

For our students, even small setbacks can put their dream of achieving a college education in jeopardy. However, this also means that even small assistance can make a big difference!

The Student Emergency Aid Fund at SFA helps students in need of one-time assistance due to a sudden financial need.

Contributions of any amount are put directly to work to help our students achieve their goal of an SFA education.

You can be the tipping point that makes a difference in the lives of SFA students. Please consider making your donation today.
