NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's dance program and Repertory Dance Company will showcase senior choreographic works and company pieces in the Danceworks production, In Perspective, which premieres 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, on campus in the dance studio in the Lucille Norton Health and Physical Education Complex, Room 201.

A second showing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, with the final show planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. Tickets cost $5 for students, $8 for faculty and staff members and $10 for general admission.

Kate Loggins, a SFA senior and member of the Repertory Dance Company presenting her final piece, explained the show's theme, In Perspective.

"There are many issues in today's society that have evoked emotion and opinions. Many of the dances in the show are about these topics," Loggins said. "The choreographers want to evoke emotion and have the audience gain a perspective on what each piece is about."

Modern dance is the main style that will be featured in the production; however, there are pieces showcasing dance theatre and contemporary choreography.

Approximately 50 people are involved in the show, including SFA seniors, Repertory Dance Company members, crew members and faculty members. SFA seniors must present a choreographed piece in the show to graduate.

"I am so excited for the show. I get to showcase my work, and I can't wait to show the audience all of the hard work the dancers have put into the show," Loggins said. "We are so proud of the show, and we hope that the audience enjoys it."
