Cum Concilio Club Heritage Preservation Award
The Stephen F. Austin State University Stone Fort Museum is accepting nominations for the 2017 Cum Concilio Club Heritage Preservation Award. The biennial award was established in honor of the Cum Concilio Club’s dedication to the preservation of Nacogdoches’ cultural and historic landscape.
The award recognizes an individual or group who has made significant contributions in heritage preservation in Nacogdoches County, including the preservation of works of art, archives, architecture, historic objects, natural history and the built environment.
The 2015 inaugural award was presented to Dr. Francis Edward ‘Ab’ Abernethy for his vision and perseverance in the development of the Lanana Creek Trail. Award recipients and their accomplishments are recognized as part of the museum’s wayside exhibit, Building History, located on the south side of the structure.
Nominations for the 2017 award are due by 5 p.m., Friday, June 30.
