SFA faculty member receives distinguished alumni award

Dr. Darrel L. McDonald, professor of geospatial sciences at Stephen F. Austin State University, recently received a distinguished alumni award from Chadron State College in Nebraska.
McDonald is assistant director of the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center on the SFA campus. He assisted with mapping services during the recovery of debris following the Space Shuttle Columbia crash in 2003.
McDonald received two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree from Chadron State and a doctoral degree from Texas A & M University. He has been an SFA faculty member since 1990.
