Nacogdoches Railroad Depot housing exhibit for National Reading Month

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Center for Rural Heritage Research at Stephen F. Austin State University has placed a new display at the Nacogdoches Railroad Depot in recognition of National Reading Month.The exhibit focuses on trains in literature, including books for both children and adults. Since their invention in the 19th century, trains have represented strength, independence and adventure. These themes are reflected in books from Watty Piper's "The Little Engine that Could" to Paul Theroux's "The Old Patagonian Express."
The Nacogdoches Railroad Depot is located at 101 Old Tyler Road in downtown Nacogdoches. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The exhibit will remain on display through March 31.
