General Accomodations Disability Accomodations



A neurologically based, developmental disability that affects learning and behavior; hyperactivity/impulsivity may or may not be present; affects ability to plan and sequence tasks, attend to multiple components simultaneously, and resist distraction and interference.

Limitations may include:

  • difficulty remaining on task, concentrating, and listening
  • poor organization and time management skills
  • distractibility
  • difficulty making transitions and following directions

Accommodations may include:

  • note taking assistance, i.e. copy of classmates and/or instructors notes
  • extended time on tests and in-class assignments
  • separate testing location to minimize distractions
  • tape recording lectures
  • laptop computer with word processor
  • audio texts
  • instructions/demonstrations delivered in more than one way, i.e. visual aids, handouts, verbal description, etc.
