Toddler I Classroom

About

The Toddler I room services thirteen children with ages ranging from one to two years old. There are two full-time teachers and a student assistant in the classroom who care for the children. A learning centers curriculum is introduced and implemented with this age group.

LouAnn Williams

Louann Williams
Lead Teacher

Louann graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Education in 1979. She earned her Master's in Early Childhood Education in May 2013. Louann has been working and learning with young children for over 30 years and joined the Lab School in 1998 as the lead Infant room teacher. In 2004 she began working in the Toddler 1 room and is the master teacher in that room. Louann works as a SFASU adjunct faculty member and is currently teaching the lab of Sensory Motor Development of the Young Child (HMS 241L) for the Human Sciences Department. She is married to Charles Williams and has three children, Whitney, Travis, and Garrett.

Heather Verell
Teacher

Heather began working with the Early Childhood Lab as a teacher's assistant during the spring of 2009. In January of 2011, she started working as a teacher in the Toddler I classroom. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University in May of 2011. While teaching in the Toddler I classroom, she started working on her Masters in Early Childhood Education from SFASU. Heather completed her degree in August of 2013.
