Lumberjack Orientation Pre-Orientation Elective Presentations

All Lumberjack Orientation Pre-Orientation Elective Presentations are optional and take place prior to the University Welcome during each Lumberjack Orientation session. We courage you to plan travel to accommodate attendance at any of the following pre-orientation elective presentations. Official times and locations will be posted prior to the summer.

First-Generation College Student Pre-Orientation Workshop | 8:45 - 10 a.m. [BPSC Tiered Classroom, 2.201]
SFA Office of Multicultural Affairs invites all first generation students and family members to the first generation workshop which will be held beginning at 8:45 a.m. This optional workshop will provide information to better adjust and prepare for college. To register and receive more details please go to the Office of Multicultural Affairs website.

Tour of Nacogdoches | 10:15 a.m. [Meet outside of the Austin Building]
Orientation Programs invites you to take a complimentary tour of Nacogdoches. The bus for the tour will leave campus at 10:15 a.m. (official take off location TBD). The bus will arrive back on campus at 11:30 am. Seats are guaranteed for those who have pre-registered, remaining seats will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Registration link to be posted in April.

Tours of Campus | 10 a.m. & Noon [Meet in the Office of Admissions, Rusk 206]
Take a tour of the SFA campus and become more familiar with the location of academic buildings and student services. Please note: This is a regular campus tour and is not orientation-related.

Student Services: Residence Life, Meal Plans, Post Office, Bookstore and ID Card | 10:15 - 11 a.m. [BPSC Movie Theater]
This optional session will provide you with information about the residence halls, meal plan options, your student ID card and more. Presenters: Nick Stallworth, associate director of the Student Center; SFA Dining Services, Residence Life, Barnes & Noble Bookstore, university police, student publications and post office representatives

Barnes & Noble Bookstore Open House | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. [First floor BPSC]
Stop by Barnes & Noble to learn about cost saving textbook options, textbook price matching, and purchase your exclusive Class of 2023 shirt. There will also be a raffle for a $250 Textbook Scholarship for the Fall 2019 semester. Stop by to pick up your 25% off coupon for one apparel item.

Academic Excellence - School of Honors | 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - Noon [Liberal Arts North, Room 102]
If you earned a minimum new SAT total score of 1290 (not including writing), or minimum 27 ACT composite score (not including writing), and/or intend to bring college credit into SFA (through AP, dual credit, International Baccalaureate, CLEP, or departmental exams) you are invited to attend this session.
