A diverse collection of native plants
The 10-acre Mast Arboretum is home to more than 7,500 species of plants, plus a variety of unique display gardens.
The Mast Arboretum is open to the public from sun up to sun down!
A living laboratory
The Mast Arboretum began in 1985 as a project of SFA’s first-ever landscape plant materials class. Since then, it has gained a reputation for its diverse collection of plants and its dedication to conservation, education and research.
In addition to providing SFA students and faculty with a living research facility, the Mast Arboretum acquires and tests plants for the landscape and nursery industry in the southern United States.
The Kingham Children’s Garden
The Kingham Children’s Garden includes a water feature, educational area and planting field. The garden has its own entrance – decorated with bright, annual flowers and a timber-frame pavilion – at 806 E College Street.
