The prevention of dishonest or fraudulent activity is the responsibility of all SFA employees. The intent of SFA Policy 01-403 is to protect the university’s assets and interests, make sure investigations of fraud are handled in a coordinated manner and define responsibilities of those involved in an investigation.
Upholding ethical standards is a shared campus responsibility. As a member of the SFA or vendor community, you may observe questionable or unethical behavior by SFA employees or identify areas for improvement to prevent misconduct. If you suspect that an employee’s conduct violates laws, rules, or policies, you are encouraged to report those concerns to your supervisor or director. We understand that this may not always be possible and for that reason we have provided additional reporting options below.
Reporting and investigating suspected improprieties or irregularities must be handled with the utmost care to prevent false accusations and ensure that no statements are made that could lead to legal liability for defamation or other claims.

EthicsPoint Reporting System
SFA uses a third-party vendor called EthicsPoint to provide a confidential reporting system for the community. This system allows employees, vendors and customers to report issues or concerns in a confidential manner. EthicsPoint provides a follow-up and response mechanism while ensuring reporter anonymity.
Information to Report
When reporting a concern, include as many specific details as possible to ensure the issue can be properly reviewed and addressed.
- Factual, descriptive information
- Names of individuals
- Dates and times of incident
- Location where the issue occurred
UT System, SFA policy and state law prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports an instance of suspected noncompliance or participates in a compliance investigation. SFA is required to investigate each suspected noncompliance.
Not for Complaints
The hotline is not intended for general complaints. It is reserved for reporting issues involving noncompliance, unethical conduct or fraudulent activity. Grievances unrelated to these matters should be addressed through the normal administrative channels.
