Stephen F. Austin State University community members joined Nacogdoches County leaders to launch Hunger Free Nacogdoches Sin Hambre, a coalition focused on organizing feeding resources within the county to meaningfully address food insecurity for those who are at risk. Distinguished Alumni Award recipient — Emily A. Parker

The acclaimed PBS documentary “The Neches River: Wild Heart of East Texas” will be featured in a public screening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Turner Auditorium in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 N. Alumni Drive, on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus. Admission is free for the event, which is open to all ages and includes a 30-minute Q&A session with filmmakers and featured experts. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ten Stephen F. Austin State University students capped off their summer I term “Discovering Business” course in the Nelson Rusche College of Business with a trip to Latvia from July 22 to Aug. 2. Old Town in Riga, Latvia’s capital, was one of their stops.
