Stephen F. Austin State University believes that compliance is not limited to certain offices, but is the responsibility of every member of the university community. It is the compliance program's goal to help coordinate and support the many campus-wide compliance activities. The university strives to create and maintain an environment of compliance with law and policies characterized by high standards of ethical behavior. This includes providing the university community with the information they need to make appropriate decisions.
About the Program
The university's compliance program takes a decentralized approach. University offices and administrators have been assigned responsibility for specific compliance areas. The Office of the General Counsel coordinates and serves in a support role to the various departments and administrators with compliance responsibilities. Additionally, the Office of the General Counsel keeps the president and Board of Regents advised of university compliance concerns.
