The Office of Multicultural Affairs is committed to advancing Stephen F. Austin State University's (SFASU) commitment to diversity and multiculturalism. To continue our commitment, The Office of Multicultural Affairs presents the Office of Multicultural Affairs Diversity Conference. The Diversity Conference seeks to provide a platform for presenters to share their diversity-related work with conference attendees and engage in vital multicultural dialogue.


• Lunch is being provided for all those who pre-registered only
• Same-Day Registration is open, however, lunch will not be provided
• Social Work Registrants interested in obtaining CEUs can receive up to 5 CEUs

Review of Proposals

At this time, the OMA Caucus is reviewing proposals for the 6th annual Diversity Conference. If you have submitted a proposal and have a question pertaining to your submission, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Diversity Art Gallery

The Office Multicultural Affairs is calling for artwork and/or writing to be displayed at the Diversity Conference Art Gallery. First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mention prizes will be given out during closing ceremonies.

What is your vision of diversity? Make us see what you see; what you want to see.

Artists are asked to present diversity from their perspective. We ask that the work be thought provoking, educational, and/or entertaining.

We ask that all artwork be in good taste. Please be culturally sensitive to others. Please do not submit overly vulgar pieces in either imagery or language.
Artwork can include: posters, paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, sculpture, writing, performance art, print making, music, and video.

• All music and video can only run 2-3 minutes and be on a loop.
• Artist must provide their own audio/video devices.
• Poster are limited to 22" x 28", display boards are limited 36" x 48", photographs are limited to 8" x 12", canvas are limited to 30" x 40".
• Table sculptures are limited to 25" x 25" x 25"; floor sculptures 40" x 40" x 40".
• Artists must supply tarp to protect the floors.
• Writing must be no more than 2-pages long.
It is at the writer's discretion on how they would like to display their work. They may have the work mounted on a board (no bigger than 16" x 20") and display on table must provide on table easel. Writer can also have writing put on display wall.

Set-up and Take down:
Artists are responsible for set up and take down of piece(s) on day of conference-Friday, February 7, 2018. All pieces left unclaimed become property of the Office of Multicultural Affairs. More information will be given closer to the date.

Proposal Information:
• Applications are due January 31 at 12 p.m. APPLY HERE
• No late or incomplete proposal forms will be accepted.
• No more than 3 proposals per artist/writer or teams.
• One form per work.
