Members of the university community who park on campus must obtain a permit from Parking Services. The permit must be properly displayed for a vehicle to be legally parked on campus. Faculty, staff and students may register multiple vehicles and the hangtag may be moved to any vehicle being operated by the permit purchaser.

Throughout the year, parking lots and garages will be impacted by various events including, but not limited to: student move-in and move-out, commencement, reunions, athletic events and construction.

Loading Zones
Loading zones/docks are intended for the delivery of bulky items that cannot be carried long distances. The operator of a vehicle making deliveries must be actively loading or unloading the vehicle with the flashers engaged, and may not be parked in the loading zone for longer than 15 minutes. When loading/unloading is completed, the vehicle must be relocated to the assigned lot. If the loading/unloading activity will take longer than 15 minutes contact Parking Services for assistance.

Types of Parking Permits

Student Parking Permits

Students may purchase permits to allow them to park their car on campus. The person to whom a university parking permit is issued is responsible for any citation issued with respect to a car displaying that permit or a vehicle registered through Parking Services by that person. If the vehicle does not display a valid university parking permit and is not registered through Parking to any university permit holder, then the person to whom the vehicle is registered through the Texas Department of Transportation or other government agency at the time of issuance of the citation and that individual's university affiliate (faculty, staff or student) are responsible for the citation. It is the permit holder's responsibility to make parking regulations known to any person operating a vehicle on university property.

Please complete the permit application through the Parking portal via your mySFA account. The fee for the permit will be posted to your eBill.

NOTE TO STUDENTS: If you order your parking permit during Orientation, you can come that day to pick it up (bring a photo ID) at the Parking Services office located at 1925 Wilson Dr. (first floor of the Wilson Parking Garage).

Specialty Permits

Specialty permits must be purchased at the parking services office and are indicated in the section below with an asterisk ("*"). Fees will be placed onto student's account.

Contractor and Vendor Parking Permits

Parking Services recognizes the important role each contractor plays and wishes to accommodate parking needs to the best of their ability. However, with limited parking on the SFA campus, it is essential the university have clear and concise policies and procedures to accommodate the contractors and vendors who have business on campus.

Contractors are comprised of individuals within a company that has been hired by the university to perform construction and/or renovation or building repair. Vendors include any individual, company, or corporation that provides a product or service to the university. This includes sales representatives, consultants, recruiters, and contracted companies conducting business with SFA. Individuals who have an SFA affiliation (faculty, staff and students) do not qualify as a contractor or vendor and must purchase the appropriate permit for their university affiliation.

Unauthorized parking in ADA parking spaces, in the access aisles between two ADA spaces, or blocking ADA ramps is a violation for which persons will be issued a $150 citation.
