Welcome to the Department
of Psychology

Unlock the mysteries of the human mind and behavior by employing the scientific method and advanced technology to explore a range of psychology disciplines and applications. From cognitive to social to developmental to clinical to behavioral neural science, each of our faculty members pursue research interests that provide you with high-impact, hands-on learning opportunities.

Transformative Experiences

At SFA, we believe students benefit greatly from hands-on learning in and out of the classroom. Transformative experiences are at the core of our academic philosophy.

Student Research

Student Research

Experiencing psychology in action, rather than just listening to lectures, develops a deeper passion and understanding for psychology. For that reason, psychology students at SFA learn by working on research projects with faculty members in well-equipped laboratories.
