Our Staff

Our staff is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. Our counselors belong to the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Director

Jill Milem - Director of Counseling Services Educational Background: MEd, LPC-S, Certified QPR Trainer
Ms. Milem received a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and a Master of Education in Counseling from SFA. She worked in private psychiatric settings and in a domestic violence shelter prior to joining Counseling Services in 1992.

Counselors

Ron Smith - Counselor Educational Background: MA, LPC, NCC, Certified QPR Trainer
Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, and spent more than two decades in the petrochemical industry. Mr. Smith earned a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from SFA in 2005. He provided counseling services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse for a private non-profit agency elsewhere in East Texas before joining our staff.
Jennifer Klingenberg - Counselor Educational Background: MA, LPC, Certified QPR Trainer
Mrs. Klingenberg received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Psychology from SFA.
Jeff Schulz - Counselor Educational Background: MA, LPC, LCDC, Certified QPR Trainer
Mr. Schulz received his Bachelor of Science in sociology-criminology from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from SFA. He has worked in juvenile justice, public mental health, substance abuse counseling, community based intervention services, and prison counseling before joining our staff.
Linda Lopez - Counselor Educational Background: MA, LPC Intern, Certified QPR Trainer
Miss Linda received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Clinical mental Health Counseling from SFA. In addition to her work at SFA, she also works as an associate counselor at Milstead and Associates Counseling Group. She has experience working in crisis intervention with adolescents, adults and geriatric clients.
Samantha Hosea - Counselor Educational Background: MA, LPC Intern, Certified QPR Trainer
Mrs. Hosea received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Community Mental Health Counseling from SFA. She previously worked in a local mental health agency where she focused on crisis and juvenile justice.
Kelsey Ticer - CIT Educational Background: MA
Kelsey received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in December of 2017 from SFA. She has prior experience in an internship with Counseling Services at SFA, particularly with Group Sessions for clients.
